The Usage tab

The credit-spend ledger: what shows up, what actually spends a credit, and when your count resets.

July 25, 2026

Usage, in your sidebar, is a read-only ledger of everything that's happened against your plan's article count this period. It doesn't let you change anything; Articles and Plan own those actions. It's there so "why did my count drop" always has a concrete answer.

The meter at the top

A line reading how many articles you've used this period, out of your plan's total, plus the date it resets. If your plan is unmetered (some agency client workspaces have no monthly cap), it just shows how many you've used with no "of" figure, since there's nothing to divide against.

What's in the list below it

Every event that touched your quota this period, newest first: the article's title or keyword, the date, a badge for what triggered it (Autopilot, Manual, or Extension), its status, and whether it used a credit.

What actually spends a credit

An article spends a credit the moment it's created, whether autopilot wrote it, you requested it, or it came in through the browser extension. That's true regardless of what happens to it afterward: skipping a scheduled article, unscheduling it when you turn autopilot off, or taking a published one down doesn't refund the credit it already cost, since the writing itself is what you're paying for.

Runs that don't produce an article at all, because something failed partway through, or because there was nothing new left to write about, show up in the same list marked as free. They're there for visibility, not because they cost you anything.

Note: A brand-new workspace with nothing written yet shows the meter with an empty list underneath, not an error. There's simply nothing to show until your first article exists.
