Connect your Shopify store

How installing the HarperFlow app connects your Shopify store and picks a blog.

August 15, 2026

On Shopify, connecting means installing the app. There's no token to copy for the standard path.

Prerequisites

You need a Shopify store you administer.

Billing works through Shopify

If you connect through the embedded app, your plan is billed through Shopify's own billing rather than a separate Stripe checkout, so charges show up alongside your other app costs. You manage or cancel from Settings → Billing in your Shopify admin.

Install and connect

Install HarperFlow from the Shopify App Store (or open it from your Shopify admin under Apps if it's already installed) and sign in or link your HarperFlow account. Because the app runs inside Shopify Admin, it authenticates and connects your store automatically. There's no domain or token to paste for this path.

Support can also connect a store manually with a custom app. In Shopify, go to Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps → Create an app, name it "HarperFlow," and grant the read/write content and online store pages Admin API scopes. Install the app and reveal its Admin API access token. It must be a User Token starting with shpua_; older private-app keys starting with shpat_ are rejected.

Choose where articles go

Pick create a HarperFlow blog (recommended, a dedicated home for HarperFlow articles) or publish into an existing blog you already use. Either way, articles render in your theme's existing article design immediately, with no extra setup.

Verify your first draft

After finishing setup or triggering an on-demand run, check Online Store → Blog posts in your Shopify admin for the new draft or scheduled post.
